In brief
Lyophilized peptides are freeze-dried powders stored dry until reconstituted. Liquid peptides are pre-dissolved in a diluent and ready to draw. Removing water via lyophilization generally reduces the rates of hydrolysis, oxidation, deamidation, and aggregation, so a well-formulated lyophilized vial typically stores and ships more forgivingly than the same peptide in solution. Real stability depends on the peptide’s sequence, formulation, residual moisture, container-closure, and storage conditions.
